Welcome to the new and improved version of AnalystForum. I’m excited about some of the new features that will make AnalystForum an even better community for CFA candidates and advertisers. As you can see, AF has a new content section on the home page for articles related to the CFA exam and finance. Expect AF to be more than just a forum, with news and analysis on topics of interest to the AnalystForum community.
Forums
New features in the forums will provide better organization and member profiles. Better forum organization comes through the new tagging and filed under capabilities.
Tagging allows topic starters to identify keywords related to the forum post. This “tagging” of the article will make it easier for members of AF to search for topics to see if a question has already been asked before posting. Here is an example of how tags are entered, with commas to separate the tags:

Here is what these tags look like in the forum post:

Clicking on the AnalystForum 2.0 tag will show all forum posts with that tag in it. Another cool feature with the tags is the new auto lookup feature. For example, if you start typing in ‘eth’ it will populate a list of potential tags starting with those characters so ‘ethics and professioanl stanfards’ would appear using this example.
Another new feature of the new forums is the “filed under” capabilties. The “filed under” field allows topic starters to file messages under one of the CFA Institute’s study sessions for the selected exam level.

Here is what the forum topic looks like when a “filed under” category is selected:

Clicking on the Study Session 1: Ethical and Professional Standards link will display other forum topics related to the same study session.
As you can see in the above examples, the member profiles have also been expanded with the member’s country, exam level, AF points, AF rating, and study solution provider. This additional information will provide members with a better idea of who to listen to (and who not to listen to). For more information on the new AF point and rating systems, please visit the FAQ section. Please take a minute to complete your new profile by selecting the Edit link next to your username in the upper right hand corner of each page.
