Today’s Wall Street Journal has a good article with some tips for acing your next exam. Here are 4 things you can do to improve your chances on your next exam:
1. Review the hardest material right before bedtime
2. Turn off music, text messages, TV and email
3. Test yourself repeatedly
4. Eat oatmeal for breakfast

I have been told during my childhood by my mom - you retain only 20% of what you read first time. You amazingly retain around 70% if you read it within a day or two again!!! Well I dont know from where she got these stats, but has always worked for me.
I dont agree with #1 of the article though. I personally believe each person has a time when you perform at your peak - for me its 4 AM to 6.30 AM in the morning. I become a piece of log by around 10-11 pm. So I read important things in the morning and my retention reading happens in the night!
#4 is a very interesting and valid point. You should not eat anything which actually is hard on your stomach - less oil, no non-veg, not spicy!
Very good points Chad, I am glad I am doing most of these, without realizing the importance of them!

Sooraj.
keep the sugar to a minimum before the test or the crash may come. still tryna figure out the best food, oatmeal may be ideal but that’s only if you regularly eat oatmeal.

Whatever you do…. don’t go to Taco Bell on your lunch break and order two double decker tacos, just because it is the closest place. ESPECIALLY don’t do this if you have just returned from Asia the week prior to the test and are therefore accustomed to eating a low-fat diet with little red meat.
I’m just sayin’.
