I have noticed, and observed in myself, that women don’t put make-up/nice clothes on to attract men, women put make-up/nice clothes on to intimidate other women. Wait, I don’t follow his argument. Generally, girls will call other girls sluts. Thus, they are making themselves look more pure, i.e. more like a virgin. If more sluts = decreasing value of virgins, why would girls want to create the impression that there are more sluts and that they themselves are virgin-like?
It seems more like pecking order behavior. Girls want a way to rank themselves. Since virgins > sluts, they call everyone else sluts. That is, they create the impression that their own sex is scarce and valuable, and that other girls’ sex is cheap (because they are sluts).

I’m doing a market analysis here - I lost my virginity when I was 23, so my personal opinions are not part of my theories. To get to the underlying market structure it helps to make a ton of assumptions and generalizations, I learnt that in econ school.
You guys are thinking to detailed. Just think of it in simple terms:
If the women on the planet all halved their sex output, in general, it would drive up the price for any woman. If woman doubled their sex output all of us would be able to command less for it. Example, a few centuries ago, marriage and full financial support for your adult life was the price of sex and sluttyness was strictly enforced (family honor, purity, conservative dress, bla bla). Then came a substitute for standard of living when women could get jobs - quantity of sex went up, and price dropped from marriage to about 2 cocktails and 1/2 hr of feelings talk.
Hence commodity-like price structure.
