Hmm, Panama, Finland, London, Tokyo… I guess there is some interesting stuff going on there lately… #5 Oakland, CA… Wait what? “New restaurants and bars beckon amid the grit.” Is this a civilized way of saying “Get drunk while accosted by crazy hobos?” 

At least it is ranked higher than #33 Uganda. Still can’t get over Forrest Whittaker hanging James MacAvoy by his skin in that movie…

I realize the purpose of the article is more about interesting places in the world right now, and not a legitimate travel plan. But man, I wish I had the time/funds to get around to half as many places in a year.

Between this and the vacation thread I’m really getting the itch to start making my summer plans

I live in San Francisco, and I’m not even going to be making a trip to Oakland in 2012. Gross….
