Types of Graduate Degrees for Analysts

I will graduate soon with a M.S. Statistics. I’ve read that a M.S. in Finance can set you apart, but is a M.S. in Statistics a desirable degree for entry-level candidates?

For those of you who are financial analysts, do you have, or do you know any analyst with a degree in Statistics? Out of curiousity, what did you get your degree in?

The answer to your question is YES they will hire you if this is what you wanna do.I got double masters and one of them is M.S in Finance and currently I am a business analyst in risk management department of a big commercial bank. As for the type of job that we do, which is business analytics, we hire people with M.S. in statistics. Our analysts are either MBAs, or M.S. or PhD in Finance, Stats, Industrial Engineering, Operation Research, or Computer Sience. Hope that helps and good luck.
