Signing the Pledge with Pen

Is it permissible for us to use pen to sign the candidate pledge?

you have taken an item which is not allowed in the testing room, because only pencils are allowed

It says that pencils are allowed for Levels I and II, but doesn’t say specifically that pens are disallowed: http://www.cfainstitute.org/about/governance/policies/Pages/personal_belongings_policy.aspx

I’m not sure why you didn’t just sign with your pencil. Either way, I’m sure it’s fine.

I was asked to sign the pledge with a pen and proctor offered me the same(I didn’t have pen with me). I thought, failure to coperate will amount as misconduct and signed the same.
