Standard IV(A) vs Standard IV(B)

Hi,

do I understand it properly, that you need to get an approval from your employer if you want to provide services outside your company SIMILAR to those you provide as employer of your company (IV(A)), but you also need to get written conset from your employer to get additional compensation for ANY kind of work (eg. serving on a board of private company) you do outside your company IV(B)? SIMILAR and ANY are the key words here.

Thanks for clarification!!

Regards

Petr

I think,

“Any outside work for which we are paid” needs approval from employer.

“Any outside work using company resources/ time” needs approval from employer.

“Any outside work for which we are not paid” can have two requirements. If it is unrelated activity like volunteering, charity, etc., disclosure is not required. If it is doing some competing work, like giving away similar product or service for free, then employer’s approval is required.

Basically, any conflict of interest with employer needs to be disclosed, and requires employer’s approval.
