Are level 1 materials testable in level 2

Hi Guys,

I am currently preparing for the 2017 level 2 exam. Apart from the level 2 curriculum, are level 1 materials also testable?

There’s a lot of overlap, yes. However, everything tested is in the level II materials.

The Exam should be based on Level 2 Curriculum. However, Level 2 curriculum does assume that we already learnt few basic concepts in Level 1.

If you are concerned about about Level 1 overlap, my advice is to read through the CFAI Level 2 Optional Sections. Those are the readings that go back through previously covered material and bring you up to speed.

My advice is to read it even if you aren’t concerned about Level 1 material. Don’t fail because you got lazy on <200 pages of content.
