A close friend of mine and tech industry expert says the potential is endless. All public-info, I believe it was the swedes that are using VR tech in tanks so that tank commanders have a 360 view from within the tank as opposed to port holes. In addition to that, imagine strapping on the headset, then stepping on a small platform that enables running, jogging in place and jogging through the hills of Skyrim as your morning run. Imagine that you are jogging through some fantasy game not so much for fitness but therapy. Spinal injuries, leg injuries could really benefit from enabling a user to forget ‘reality’ and put their legs to use via VR.
Any familiarity in the topic? How about public companies? This is definitely a low-key industry and from what I saw at CES 2014, very very potent.
