Canadian Yield Curve Inverted This Morning

Just sayin’. 1 year is below the 90 day and the 2 year is below the 1 year. geo might be onto something. not necessarily global recession but a Canadian one at least.

Geo is always onto something. That said, crude is rallying insanely today. Up nearly 10%??? Buy, buy, buy!

Looks like I was close. Probably only 5 months of negative growth…

Still slightly inverted to the 2yr, then a slow and painful climb up. 30 year traded sub 2% today. Canada is going to be an awful place to do business unless theres some oil supply disruption with some Arabs or Russians chucking bombs at each other.

As a country, we’re a one trick pony. Oil and gas and things that rely on those. Marginally productive agriculture sector. That’s it folks. Ontario and the manufacturing heartland sold out to hard left greenie socialism years ago. It’s over. It’s all on Alberta and the oil.

welkome back GEo

i still called oil :P.

yeah, if the ndp get majority power federally, we may as well just shut down and go home for four years.

Don’t expect to see much of me. I’m trying to avoid the Water Cooler.

I’m seriously considering an expat spot that might come up for me in a few months if the NDP really make a push in the polls. We will be so utterly screwed for new investment if the socialists take over Federally. It’s already bad enough here in Alberta.

at least stay here

Given NDP is in, best thing that could happen is that oil stays low. if bad things happen on their watch, we won’t see them again

alberta unemployment rate now above 8%. yowza. hanging in geo? panhandlers mugging you yet?

I’m still employed. Things are pretty weak around here, downtown is dead. But overall, I’d still live here compared to any other option in Canada. The worse day economically in Alberta is still better than the best day in Ontario or God forbid Atlantic Canada.
