Does anyone follow Taiwan? Do we want some at these prices? Why, why not?
The Taiwan Weighted Index is -20% YTD. That’s getting back to late 2011 levels. The Bloomberg iPhone app lists the index P/E at 11.5X. The TWD vs USD is -3% YTD.
iShares EWT covers 85% of the market. Yield is 2%. It’s 50% information technology companies, plus 20% financials. What’s in there, is the stuff any good? Looks like Taiwan Semiconductor Manf represents 23% of the ETF, and is down 18% YTD.
Someone here must know something…
