U can do it..! I did it in about a month or so while planning my wedding with the mrs… so its doable for sure!
i used schweser and read everything in order of its weightage in the exam. did all the practice questions from the notes as well as the questions from actual CFAI material while reading.. then once i was done with everything i reviewed and used two of the schweser mocks as practice questions rather than use them as timed mock exams. And the last two days i just did two mock exams - a schweser mock and the mock on the CFAI webiste. dotn know if the same strategy will work for u but i guess u can take pointers… and good luck!!!
yeh yeh, intercom I was not attacking you, in general many will say they cant do it, which would make me say i cant do it since i am also an avg human…
for now all i can do is tell myself that i can do it, and just not think about the odds, keep working till the last day and we see how it goes.
anyway, sorry for the hostility, a few redbulls and caffeine tabs at work
higgmond, you are right about the stress, i have not left my building in 10 days, I dont even know where my car is (5 floors of parking, and forgot where I parked it).
As much as I want a drink, or just to go for a drive, I won’t forgive myself if I fail, I am sticking to this road.
I drop by here for a question and a motivation a couple of times a day, a watch a couple of rocky scenes on youtube everyday, and other than that it is study study study.
mellow123, good to know someone has done it before, that always helps…
well this thread is not about us… it was started by firedcfa and it is about him. So, cut the nonsense of if i were you or if I were him because you are not him.
To the, OP. Good luck and stick to your planned schdedule.
managed to get 12 hours on one day, however 10 is the number on most days, I am disappointed, you would think if I have nothing to do I can get more than 10 hours, very ashamed of myself :(
Gona keep it rolling, ten thousand people pass level III every year, aint no reason why i cant be one of them.

Don’t feel ashamed for getting “only” 10 hrs in. That’s probably already more than double the daily amount most people put in. I’m lucky if I get 2 hrs in a day for level 2. Take a break every couple days too for an evening. If you haven’t deactivated your cell phone (I can’t remember your plan for avoiding the world), call your GF if you have one, go for dinner, see a movie, whatever.
For me, today I studied at my office watching the lights and AC turn off around me and went over flashcards. Tonight I’ll drink some wine and watch Mad Men.
Can’t study 100% of the time. You’ll drive yourself crazy.
If you study 10 hours a day, every day, you’ll log 320 hours. If you’re someone who can absorb the material faster, maybe you can pass with only 200 hours under your belt. Either way, it’s worth a shot. You’ve already paid, and there’s a reasonable chance that you can pass and save yourself both a year and another registration fee - just understand that May is going to be a grueling month for you. And if you have a significant other, do your best to solicit their support.
No guarantees here, and it’s a tough road to slog, but it’s still worth the effort, since you’ve come this far.
I’d forgotten this thread, read its title, and thought OMG, you’re going to do L3 studying all crammed in one month. That sounds horrific, and long odds.
But then I saw my post above from the time that you started this thread, and I am happy to see that I was on the right side of history after all.
Congratulations, FiredCFA! You deserve your success!
Hopefully you will be a HiredCFA soon (if not already).
:-)
You want a quote? Haven’t I written enough already???
You may start trying for another job right from today but there is little chance you can be sure of getting a acceptable alternative soon or by 3rd june….. may be lucky to get one but no way of knowing how far it may become true..
So what else better alternative you have got other than restarting (as you will not be starting from zero after all!) …….Whether any one else have been able to do it before or not really does not matter …each individual is different and may be you will be the first to say on this forum,“I did it in 33 days, peparing full time for it. You too can do it.” Have faith in your abilty and trust in God - all will be well at the end.
….. Good luck.
Congrats… so you are indeed the first one who can now proudly say ,“I did it in 33 days, peparing full time for it. You too can do it.”
What about your new job? Surely, you have one, if not, get ready for it… it is on the way.. Enjoy and be happy.
lol, during the boot camp I destroyed anything that could take up my time including my AF account. I change the password to random chars and did the same for the email so that I cant reset it.
Thats how firedcfa2 rose from the ashes.
I like your speculative position, you would make a good auditor.
Wow! such a nice motivating thread. So much to be learnt in just two pages.
congratulations FiredCfa, not for just passing, but for showing that impossible is nothing. Now i know definitely that despite all the warmongering threads about the Level 2 being a beast, it’s definitely doable. If you can do level 3 in one month, then I’ve got four times the amount of time you had to slay the level 2 beast.
For what it’s worth, I knocked out LIII in about a month.
Kudos to you if you were working fulltime. It took me one month for level 2 and two for level 3 preparation (put in more hours in level 1 than the other two combined), but I was a fulltime student and had nothing else to do except studying (and watching TV).

For some odd reason, I find it difficult to retain much of what I learned if I do it in such a short period of time. I regret doing it for L1. Despite of the results, I will need to revisit a lot of areas again to get a good grasp of it. For L2 I have decided to take my time.
I think you can do it fired, but the stress does appear to be getting to you already. Take a few hours off and go see a movie or something.
You can fondle the cube, but it will not respond.

Oh infinitybenzo is our resident mini-troll, don’t need to mind him much.
Hope. It is the quintessential human delusion, simultaneously the source of your greatest strength, and greatest weakness.
are you hiring?

did you find a job yet?
Congrats, keep us posted. If JDV can do it, you can also.
Congrats… so you are indeed the first one who can now proudly say ,“I did it in 33 days, peparing full time for it. You too can do it.”
What about your new job? Surely, you have one, if not, get ready for it… it is on the way.. Enjoy and be happy.
I am in a very low payin job right now, 2k a month and experience not worth much, but hey at least I am still employed in finance.
Again thanks to all the support guys.
that’s weird. the last post from ‘firedcfa’ was on may 13. the posts after results came out were by ‘firedcfa2’.
KISS MY CONVERSE.

For what it’s worth, I knocked out LIII in about a month.
