World’s Fastest Cars:
http://www.thesupercars.org/fastest-cars/fastest-cars-in-the-world-top-10-list/
1. Bugatti Veyron Super Sport: 267 mph, 0-60 in 2.4 secs. Aluminum, Narrow Angle 8 Liter W16 Engine with 1200 hp, base price is $2,400,000. Although the Bugatti Veyron lost the title to SSC Ultimate Aero on March 2007, Bugatti challenge the record in Germany on July 10, 2010 with the new 2010 Super Sport Version and the Veyron once again claims the title of the fastest car in the world at 267 mph. The original Bugatti Veyron has a top speed of 253 mph, priced at $1,700,000 and equipped with 1001 hp.
#2 is a tie at 260 mph!
2. Hennessey Venom GT: 260 mph, 0-60 in 2.5 seconds, has a 6.2-liter LS9 Turbocharged V8 Twin Turbo V8 Engine producing 1200 hp, has a price tag of $950,000. The Venom GT has yet to be tested and proven, but could possibly hit a top speed of 275 mph. This might just be the Veyron Super Sport’s closest competitor!
2. Koenigsegg Agera R: 260 mph, 0-60 in 2.9 secs. 5.0-liter V8 Engine with twin turbo’s, housing 1099 hp. Base price is $1,600,000. If you’re into snow sports, the Agera R can be fitted with a Ski Box as well as winter tires, not that I would take one on a ski trip or anything like that. While the Agera R has a massive theoretical top speed, the current tested top speed is 260 mph. Expect this snow car to be the Bugatti’s arch enemy for the next 5 years.
Also a tie for #3.
3. SSC Ultimate Aero: 257 mph, 0-60 in 2.7 secs. Twin-Turbo V8 Engine with 1183 hp, base price is $654,400. Tested in March 2007 by Guinness World Records, The SSC Ultimate Aero was the fastest car in the world from March 2007 to July 2010. On March 2011, the Koenigsegg Agera R also surpassed it, forcing this American made car to the #3 spot. Shelby SuperCars will continue their quest to reclaim the fastest car title, and their new SSC Tuatura might do the job (we’ll just have to wait).
3. 9ff GT9-R: 257 mph, 0-60 in 2.9 secs. 4.0 Litre V6 Twin-Turbo Engine with 1120 hp, base price is $695,000. Based on the Porsche 911, the 9ff GT9-R 1120 hp version is limited to 20 units and the exterior may be modified to suit the owner.
4. Saleen S7 Twin-Turbo: 248 mph, 0-60 in 2.8 secs. Twin Turbo All Aluminum V8 Engine with 750 hp, base price is $555,000. Smooth and bad-ass. It will make you want to show it off non-stop.
5. Koenigsegg CCX: 245 mph, 0-60 in 3.2 secs. 90 Degree V8 Engine 806 hp, base price is $545,568. Made in Sweden, it is the older brother of the Agera R, only losing to 4 other supercars in the world.
6. McLaren F1: 240 mph, 0-60 in 3.2 secs. BMW S70/2 60 Degree V12 Engine with 627 hp, base price is $970,000. The fastest car in the 20th century with doors that looks like bat wings. Maybe Batman needs to order one and paint it black ![]()
7. Zenvo ST1: 233 mph, 0-60 in 2.9 secs. Twin-Charged 7.0 liter V8 Engine forging 1,104 hp. Base price: $1,225,000. The first Supercar from Zenvo Automotive, a Danish sports car company in pursuit of speed and perfection. This 100% Danish made supercar is limited to 15 units and the company even promised “flying doctors” to keep your baby functioning.
There is a tie for 8th place at 225 mph.
8. Gumpert Apollo: 225 mph, 0-60 in 3.0 secs, 4.2 liter V8 Engine that houses 650 hp. Base price: $450,000. Gumpert claims that the Apollo was designed such that it could drive upside-down in a tunnel with speeds at 190 mph or above. Of course, no one has tested this yet.
8. Noble M600: 225 mph, 0-60 in 3.7 secs. Twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 Engine with 650 hp. Base price is $330,000. The Noble M600 also happens to be a very cool car. Its inconspicuous design sports a slender and contoured body which does not scream out for attention at every second of the day.
There is a 3-way tie for #9!
9. Aston Martin One-77: 220 mph, 0-60 in 3.4 secs. 7.3 litre V12 Engine with 750 hp. Base price: $1,850,000. The production of this is limited to 77, hence the name One-77. This is beauty and power packed into One.
9. Ascari A10: 220 mph, 0-60 in 2.8 secs. 5.0 litre BMW V8 S62 Engine with 625 hp. Base price: $650,000. The company planned to produce 50 of these supercars at its factory in Banbury, England.
9. Lamborghini Aventador: 220 mph, 0-60 in 2.9 secs. V12 Engine with 700 hp, base price is $379,700. According to Lamborghini, Aventador is the name of a Bull that entered into battle at the Saragossa Arena on October 1993. This is the fastest bull in the world!
We have another 3-way a tie for 10th place:
10. Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster: 217 mph, 0-60 in 3.4 secs. Twin turbocharged AMG V12 engine that produces 678 hp. Base price is $1,850,000. The Pagani Zonda Cinque Roadster is a limited-edition, with five ever produced. It is the quintessential exotic and exclusive supercar.
10. Ferrari Enzo: 217 mph, 0-60 in 3.4 secs. F140 Aluminum V12 Engine with 660 hp, base price is $670,000. Only 399 were ever produced; the price goes up every time someone crashes.![]()
10. Jaguar XJ220: 217 mph, 0-60 in 3.8 secs. Twin Turbo V6 Engine with 542 hp, base price was $650,000. Made in 1992, this car still has what it takes to make the list.

the lambo looks like the most practical car to me with a price tag at $380K and an interior like this…

I’ll take a UGR TT Gallardo. 1500rwhp on race gas.
#8 is mad ugly
Hope. It is the quintessential human delusion, simultaneously the source of your greatest strength, and greatest weakness.
I’m going to take this list to convince myself it is okay to buy a car in the $70-90K range.
Some options:
2012 BMW 650i, BMW M3, Jaguar XK, Corvette Z06, Porsche 911 Carerra, Porsche Cayman R, Mercedes C63 AMG, Audi S5
650i is baller, M3 is nice, and S5 is a pretty good car and on the low end or below the range (maybe 60 - 70K).

I wouldn’t want to be seen driving any one of those with the exception of the Aston Martin perhaps. Just screams out ”look at me look at me”. I’d be embarrased pulling up anywhere more than anything else. The Aston Martin is classy though.

I like the second yellow car, because it looks like the lotus exige. but can’t afford any of them.
The Noble looks somewhat practical and isn’t that bad at $330,000, relatively speaking of course.

Yeah, I don’t know. Who drives stuff like this? Even super rich people like Steve Jobs or Bill Gates drive more “normal” cars like Mercedes or Porsches. Zuckerberg drives an Acura TSX (although, he is probably intentionally being unpretentious). Ultra performance $300k cars like these have all sorts of problems - they break down, catch fire, cause whiplash in stop and go traffic, don’t fit in regular parking spaces, etc. I guess they are nice toys if you have the money, but I’m not sure if people would actually like to drive them.
Somewhat related story: I once had to vacate the left highway lane near Woodside because a Mercedes SL AMG (not sure if it was SL63 or 65) was coming up from behind at 100+ mph. I wonder if it was Steve Jobs - he lived around there and drives that sort of car.

Are you referring to the orange car? That’s #7
I used to smoke pot and go to class.
Sneak in ten minutes late with a bullsh*t excuse.
Slink down low at my desk.
Pray to god nobody asked me any questions.
I was the best teacher ever.
Screw those cars, for 70-90 you can get a 2003 Ferrari 360 with like 10k miles on it if you’re not too good for a used car (used being like 10-20k miles over 10 years).

If I had crazy $$$ and the ultra baller lifestyle, you better believe I’d have a garage full of those monsters.

If you’ve got the money, why not own a few of these?

Owning and driving are not the same things! People buy these cars as garage ornaments. I don’t know if the owners actually drive them around regularly.
In some places like Hong Kong, rich guys buy a Ferrari and park it in front of their apartment building (basically dick swinging). Then, because driving in Hong Kong sucks, they take a taxi to go out.
In the US, maybe it’s not so extreme. However, I still doubt that owners of these cars drive them that much, other than on the occasional race day, or when they just want to say FU to society. There’s nothing wrong with buying ultra high performance cars if you have the money, but if you’re going to the Los Gatos Whole Foods, you’re going to take the S Class.
“I’m a CPA! I got money b***h!”
I have a feeling that if you can actually afford these cars, you probably aren’t driving to Whole Foods yourself. If I had silly money, I could certainly see buying the Aston or the Noble for my everyday ride to the country club or marina. Would probably grab one of the obnoxious ones as well and would find someplace fun to drive it a couple of times per month. The Zenvo keeps grabbing my eye for that.

Those are some fine pieces of machinery, but if I ever make it big, a Porsche GT2 is all I’ll ever need/want.

Can’t see myself ever driving much more than a mid range luxory brand like BMW, Benz, Lexus, etc.. For toys I’d prefer a redone classic car – mid 70s caddy eldorado convertible or even a mid 60s Don Drapper style.
Yea if I had money out the wazoo, there’s no way I would be using a $300k car as a daily driver. At that level, I would have a daily personal driver and probably an armored 7series / S600 at my beck and call.
I would own a few ultra sports cars, and take it on the occasional ride to a nice dinner, take some lessons and go to the track a few times for fun.
Hope. It is the quintessential human delusion, simultaneously the source of your greatest strength, and greatest weakness.
Servicing those cars are ridiculously expensive, especially with the F1 style gearbox. Someone told me its 20k every few years just to service the transmission.
It would be really nice to have one though!
Hi all! Long time no talk!
My car: 2004 R32

A new list. A lot of the same, but a couple of additions. Anyone else think the Ferrari FF looks like a BMW M4?
You can fondle the cube, but it will not respond.
BMW M4? Do you mean Z4 M coupe? Someone in my work garage has that car. It’s not the most expensive car there, but I think it’s the coolest, given that it’s so rare in the US.
There will be a BMW 4 series next year (it’s the new name for 3 series coupe). So possibly, they will call the M version an M4. Seems like they would lose a lot of brand recognition though, since enthusiasts hold the M3 in such high regard.
“I’m a CPA! I got money b***h!”
I think he means Z4 M
M4 doesn’t come out till 2014

I agree with ohai. These things just look weird. I mean I’m sure the idea sounds like fun, but uh I would prefer something more….understated. And I used to be a big car fanboy when I was little. However, I think the Mclaren F1 is the best looking one out of the list..
Plus, you’ll never really use these machines to the top of their ability and likely you may well not have the skills to do so…unless you’re planning road trips to Nevada on a regular basis. Even as a toy they fail.
If I had 400k to blow, I’d rather buy a small plane….now THAT would be a toy. And you could tell interesting stories like bchad.
Cities teem with evil and decay, let’s give it a good shake and see what falls out!!
I agree most of them look weird, but the Aston Martin and Bugatti Veyron looks pretty good. The Veyron is just simply awesome.
Yes sorry, Z4 M.
