1814 London beer tsunami

Apparently, eight people died in London in 1814 by being drowned in a 25-foot beer tsunami. This happened when 20,000 tank of beer ruptured in a London brewery, flooding the nearby slum.

Some of the details are just bizarre. Wtf, London?
