69, hahahahaha

You guys aren’t making this easy…

I was expecting reponses more along the lines of… “wow cool picture” - flaming liberal hipseter or “f u obama for giving the enemy an open invitation to Pearl Harbor 2.0” - racist righty

I remember during the Presidential debate, Romney accused Obama of scaling down the number of navy vessels, to which Obama replied along the lines of “yes, but we also have fewer horses and chariots”. However, leading up to the Sequester, Obama goes to Virginia and poses with navy shipyard workers; he says that the budget cuts, which would scale down ship production and maintenance, are an economic threat.

Point is that the response can be based a lot on context and what you are thinking about at the moment.

das boot

And now I have Danger Zone stuck in my head.

My word was “Impressive!”

I guess it all goes to show that if one photo is going to predict political affiliation, that one isn’t it.

A single US carrier has a more powerful air force than 70% of all countries.

Edit: And we have 10 of them currently in service. Italy is second with 2.

this started playing in my mind:

Not only that, but ours are roughly 40% larger than those used by other nations and far more technologically advanced.

Anyhow, the last one sunk in combat was in WWII. If you look through this list at the US and Japan, it kinda wow’s you how ferocious the naval side of that conflict must have been:

<< hornet sinking

wasn’t military spending in the US greater than the sum of 7 (17? forgot which) next largest militaries in the world…most of them allies of the US…hehe
