15,000 words

Anyone have any idea how long it would take to review and edit a 15,000 word doc?

Uh… that is a chunky piece of documentation (like 30 pages double spaced?). It depends on what it is, right? If it’s a legal brief, then yeah that will take a while. If it’s bhad’s list of favorite foods and why, then maybe less rigorous analysis would be needed.

1 day, max.

I have to disagree. bchad’s list of favorite foods and why would undoubtedly include myriad references to historical events, recipies, and persons that would require years of fact checking.

Dunno about that… the best part of food criticism is usually in the footnotes…

Depends on who is reading it and how busy they are. Submitting something to academic reviewers takes ages, even if it’s short. I have to proof a 50-100 page document (lots of charts, but ~25% of pages are full of text) at least once a month, usually takes ~two hours.

Depends on what level of proofing. Are you just spotting missing commas or advising on sentence structure, flow, etc? And can you use track changes or is the person requesting it old school? Lots of variables.
