anyone here getting shafted by their employer? these corps are getting grimey
This will all comeback to bite them in the a$$. Companies have a record level of cash, building a warchest. You save costs in the short term until you realize that no one has any more coin to spend and deflation sets in. It’s a downward spiral.
I’m not getting shafted as our 401k is pretty good. I had started a pretty comprehensive thread last year in Investments where we got talking about match %s, vesting, etc. I think a vesting schedule makes sense as long as its not excessive. My old job, the vesting was done over a 5 year period and it wasn’t equal each year. That sucked. I left with zero match, but their match was complete sh*t anyway.
It just shows that workers prefer a 401k cut to an explicit compensation decrease.
My company’s match has always been pretty low, max of 3% of salary and bonus.
