UKers: Chartered Financial Planner wiki entry

I came across this wiki entry

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chartered_Financial_Planner

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chartered_Financial_Planner

>> In the United States, the equivalent title to Chartered Financial Planner is Chartered Financial Analyst.

any UKers out there who know the relative values of the 2 qualifications feel like correcting and/or adding that line ?

Uh huh.

This is kind of a tangent, but I just spent a week in the Southern US and I have to say I really enjoyed it (first time in the South). Good food, nice people, amazing women. I particularly liked Atlanta and Charleston. Of course I’m a white guy so maybe that helps but I felt like I fit in pretty well there, although maybe that’s just Southern Hospitality.

No idea on the UK CFP thing but I wanted to give a shout out to my homies in the South.

This is more of a firmwide thing according to the CII website:

http://www.cii.co.uk/membership/chartered-financial-planners/

To be quite honest with you, the majority of qualifications that the CII provide are really for financial advisors. Not investment analysts/fund managers like the CFA charter is primarily meant for.

since I posted at the start of the thread, someone’s edited the wiki entry I mentioned and deleted the comparison to chartered financial analyst.

If it was someone here, thankyou

I’m happy to hear that you had a nice time and enjoyed the southern belles
