Anyone else find these communications strange? Either fully disclose the circumstances behind JR’s resignation, or omit any mention of it entirely and simply say “we’re moving in a new direction.” Insttitute might want to spend a few bucks on public relations.

What if the circumstances are really embarrassing? Why would we want to disclose the reason if it was something tawdry like an inappropriate relationship with a co-worker or an intern, a la President Clinton? Probably best to let him go quickly and quietly.

The conflict was disclosed after Mr. Rogers’ resignation. He probably got a new gig that conflicts in some way. No big deal.
