Well i am not a regular poster on AF although i do read most of the threads in WC section.I personally like the posts/threads of Greenman/CVM/Bchad/RR/Whats ur govt/ohai etc.I believe that RR is being treated unfairly on AF.I do agree that he did a mistake by posting a thread on controversial stuffs like rape.We must not forget that RR is just 23 and he was never trying to degrade the women.RR just told that the rape could have been avoided had the girl being a little honest in her marriage and a little care ful when she was trying to cheat her husband.RR never told that the girl deserved to be raped.I think Greenman and bchad were correct in stating that although RR never had any intention to degrade women perhaps it was a poor judgement on RR’s part to post such a thread.I am providing the link for that thread here:http://www.analystforum.com/forums/water-cooler/91334077?page=1.
I have never seen RR pick a fight with any one on AF.People like igor have constantly tried to put RR down by mocking him and his nationality.I think Igor is jealous of the fact that RR has fancy credentials and decent finance job at 23!!.
I think leaving aside few threads like phone sex RR tries to positively contribute to AF by posting on diverse field of topics like marketing/HRM/Psychology etc.I really liked the thread where RR tried to link blue ocean strategy and Maslow’s theory to portfolio management.
I would like to request moderators to edit racist remarks on AF.Many of CFA/FRM holders like us are members of AF and we don’t want silly/childish racist remarks on a forum (AF)composed of CFA charterholders as it brings a bad name to the entire community.Give people warnings if they don’t improve ban them but please make AF free of racism.
Last but not the least,if you people don’t like RR then please ignore him and his threads.Don’t give any importance to RR or better ban RR instead of degarding yourself by posting non sense remarks.
I like RR and he’s welcome to post here. I didn’t get the sense that RR was hurt by being picked on a bit, and I think he takes it in stride and realizes that at the end of the day, it’s just a bunch of anonymous voices on the internet, and not anyone with real significance to his life. My hope is that over time, people will tire of and forget about his being picked on and he will feel more comfortable here. Many people start that way and then become accepted members.
FrankArabia started out being laughed at because he was a newbie seeking “the glory” of investment banking, but eventually he became an admired member of the community and has been missed ever since he became Kim Kardashian’s secret lover that was kidnapped and encased in concrete by Kanye. (At least, that’s what I assumed happened to him and explains why he doesn’t post here anymore).
I didn’t like the post about the woman who was raped, but I didn’t read it as RR being genuinely reprehensible. I saw it as RR being a bit clumsy in how he says things in a language that he speaks reasonably well, but which probably isn’t his first language. Even without the language issue, most of us have made mistakes like that at one point or another in our lives, where we say something we think, but choose words that makes what we think sound really horrific. That’s different from people who say horrific things over and over again and never rephrase themselves. I don’t see RR as one of those guys.
So RR is welcome here in my book. He gets teased a bit, but most of us do. When I was an academic, I had an advisor who said: “If you’re not being criticized, you’re being ignored.” It may be true in the rest of the world, too.

There is always something intriguing about a guy that lives in a 300 sq foot condo working on financial statements using a dinner candle as lighting and having the Kardashians playing in the background.
There are people here with multiple personas. No message board is immune to that, I wouldn’t expect this one to be any different.
I don’t think Bchad and RR are the same person. I do find it odd though that every time there is a thread about RR, Bchad comes vigorously to his defense as if there’s a federal case against RR and the jury is seconds away from deliberating.
It’s not that vigorous. I didn’t tell people they have to stop teasing RR or get booted. I didn’t erase criticisms of the guy. I just said that I don’t think he’s a bad guy and he got whalloped once for the kind of mistake that probably isn’t reflective of his true character, and which most of us have made at some point in our lives.
To some extent I’m posting because - except for the controversial thread - I like the things he adds to the forum. His posts of gigantic excerpts from business school texts and McKinsey diagrams was endearingly innocent here, but gave us worthwhile things to think about and post.
This is certainly better than debating the merits of no-fap, who one’s favorite pornstar is, and what a woman’s appropriate number is, and so I want to encourage RR to stay here, because the kinds of things he used to post add to the forum and make it a better place. Chase the guy away, and I think the forum is a lesser place for it.
You could call that a “vigorous” defense of RR, I suppose, but it’s really more of an attack on other posters to step up their game and start posting stuff that’s more relevant than crap about how to slay dimes in the strip bar.
I used to post nice academic stuffs but people like green man sir thought i was trolling by posting evey stuffs being taught in a business school … as a result i started posting nonsense stuffs like phone sex etc.
If the world can forget about Chris Brown beating the shit out of Rhianna, I can forget about RR’s one ill-thought post. Your post hit a nerve but whatever… Who am I to talk, I’m the guy who ends interviews when the candidate asks for water.
