Vote: Worst / Most Annoying Pundit on Financial News

My vote, Santelli.

Cramer and Santelli. Cannot stand Joe Kernan either

Word. Can’t stand the mouthpieces…

+1. The three that I came to name; although, mostly the latter two. I just don’t read/watch anything that says Cramer on it anymore.

Cramer. I immediately change the channel.

Cramer hands down. Santelli, while crazy, is the only person left employed by CNBC that will tell people bad shit might happen.

I’d like to high-five Santelli on some of his rants.

I enjoy listening to Cramer ha ha. He seems to at least do his due dilligence on things that aren’t the lightning round. But I don’t see him often and haven’t recently, so perhaps I have a biased sample or he is getting more loonie and I haven’t noticed.

Someone I know is Jim Cramer’s neighbor in Summit. These guys all live in $5 million houses. I think maybe I need to switch jobs…

To be fair the volume is so low on our tv that I can’t hear what’s being said. I just see Santelli’s face up close screaming wildly at the tv each day.

I don’t watch financial news. But the little bit that I have seen of Jim Cramer makes me think that he’s the investments version of Tony Kornheiser or Skip Bayless.

Not that I am an advocate of Jim Cramer, but he did run a successful hedge fund for a while and supposedly got 20%+ annualized returns over his time there. Maybe it was just luck, or other people who did the work for him. However, it does make me wonder if he has additional depth beyond his stage persona. If you go on TV every day, no doubt that you must make things up to say most of the time.

Najarian bros and the Fast Money crowd on CNBC. Don’t know what happened to the Asian chick on that, but they all sucked.

Cramer advocates jumping in and out of stocks, even if inadvertantly. Hugely entertaining but not actionable. Jason Zweig’s commentary in the Intelligent Investor skewers Cramer pretty well.

I rarely unmute CNBC (or Bloomberg), the ticker and sidebars have far more relevance. Of course, Becky’s interview with Buffett is the rare exception.

I loved South Park’s spoof of Cramer, though I think they should try again:

I have zero interest in financial news pundits.

Robert Peston. total ****. also caused the run on northern rock

Rehabilitated ghosts from 2001 tech meltdown - Abby Joseph Cohen, Henry Blodgett etc. No consequences for their actions, but then again why should they be treated differently than politicians and bankers?

Caution – before viewing, please note that it will infuriate you that this CNBC “anchor,” dilettante Joe Kernen, probably makes a heck of a lot more money than you for knowing absolutely nothing:
