And this is what people need to realize when they say don’t shoot until they start shooting at you first, or grab at your gun
So on the one hand they obviously should have approached more cautiously. There are a myriad of options between shooting and not shooting. The accurate range on a .38 revolver (I’m guessing it was a snub nose to boot) is like 20-40 feet. I don’t think just shooting at someone who was adjusting their waistband would have been right either, it’s pretty obvious how that can go awry.
On the other hand, it was interesting to think about how this might be viewed if people went into a racial uproar over it. But one difference is that in these cases the murderer is definitely going to be tried and punished, which would have probably avoided the whole Baltimore deal.
