A reading list must be devised somewhere

Since most guys here are into reading books/blogs or watching documentaries and the like I think there should be a special section in WC updated everytime a person reads a cool book(the subject shouldnt matter) and update other on it.It has a few benefits I have thought about:

  1. Its a far better way to spend your time in AF than talking about rape or indian CA
  2. Most guys here have a rather analytical approach towards books therefore there may be a good chance that the book is actually good if it has been recommended by someone legitimate in the forum
  3. Finding reading lists is not that easy online given the fact that ther are so diverse

You might want to compile a list of AF threads that already deal with the subject instead.

Here’s what i read over the past few months. Combo of both good lit and book “porn” if you will:

Fahrenheit 451 - Bradbury

Royal Flush - Mezrich

Buyside - Duff

Walden -HDT (I was camping near a pond, didnt read it all)

Lord of the flies - Golding

Confessions of a Wall ST analyst -Reingold (just got it)

Legit book. I’ve spoken with Dan in the past and found him very humble and approachable. Though this book will dissuade most candidates from completing the exams.

Dan also uses CFA as a noun in the book many times, hacksaw.

@Viceroy-I dont agree

AF users want something ready, not something you have to search for.Why do you post in wc ? because it is readily available if you had to search for wc in the threads you would never post as often in my humble opinion.Another problem to your solution is I think books AF guys read should be subdivided to general, finance and business/economics.Most threads deal with one of these topics however to stay sharp and in the game you have to read about all the sections.

That’s right, because outperforming investments need to be ready, not something you have to search for? AF users want that stuff, and they want it now!

You can rephrase your question as to what people are reading “right now”, that sidesteps the issue by putting it into the present.

But if your argument is “tell me something you spent time writing up earlier, because I’m too lazy to type ‘good books’ into the search box at the upper right hand side of the page,” you’re not going to get much sympathy from folks here.

^Agree

yeah that was a good thread - good find. i bumped it in general discussion
