Newbie Question!!!

Hello everyone -

I never heard of CFA until about 2 months ago, but I'm planning on taking Level 1 in December. Any recommendations on review programs? It seems to be either Stalla or Kaplan...are they basically the same?

I just passed the CPA exam too and understand this is considerably harder. Can anyone give a good comparison of the level of difficulty to expect? I'm 4 years removed from college and am pretty rusty in math. Thanks!

Another CPA here. I used Becker for CPA review but decided to go with Schweser for the CFA exam. I hear both are good but leaned towards Schweser as they been in this industry for quite some time.

As for difficulty, I've heard that the CFA exam is much more difficult than the CPA exam. Can't tell for sure until I sit for the exam this June. Obviously, having a finance background helps but like most CPA's, the basic undergraduate classes in finance are probably all the exposure we've had.

Here's a link to a thread on CPAnet.com comparing the difficulty of the CFA versus the CPA exam.

LOL, that might be the worst song and video ever. The sad thing is that they probably think they hit it big because they're on youtube.

Yeah Johnny, I didn't take any true finance courses. I used Gleim for CPA b/c it was a lot cheaper. The Stalla free preview looked impressive, but any good marketing can do that too.

Thanks for the input.

I'm a CPA as well. Although I haven't gotten to FRA yet, I did skim through it and I think we will have a huge advantage on that part. I'm more or less just planning on skimming though that section. Of course, I'm sure I will have to review the other sections more than others...
