general market consensus varies though. some ppl dont even use the 10-k to get info. some ppl juss use sell side research consensus. some ppl juss listen to cnbc. and some ppl seriously juss do it based on charts. and some have access to more specific info you wont find anywhere like how old their plants are, issues with supply chain, etc. and investing by consensus typically sucks. when consensus is good it is typically overpriced. one example is sell side research. we can assume that these are prolly informed participants, but even they suck at making predictions.
