I agree. I thought L3 was hardest to prepare for.
Anyone can register for L1. L1 is actually a great foundation for financial analysis – all the basics of DCF. leases, inventory accounting, etc. etc. If you love finance, this is great basic training. Learn it and take it just to begin to feel the least bit competent in matters of finance.
Technically speaking, that is not true. To register for L1, you have to have a valid passport and one of the following:
- Undergraduate education : A bachelor’s (or equivalent) degree or be in the final year of your bachelor’s degree program (you will be required to update your education information before you can register for the Level II exam), or
- Work experience : Four years of professional work experience (does not have to be investment related), or
- A combination of professional work experience and education that totals at least four years (part-time positions do not qualify, and the four-year total must be accrued prior to enrollment).
