You need to spend some time in West Texas. You’ll quickly learn that nothing Obama has ever done, or ever will do, is a good move.
I’ve often wondered why there’s still an embargo with Cuba, other than there’s just a few asshats at the top of the government who just want to hold a grudge.
The timing of this is interesting, as I was reading an article just yesterday discussing the economic problems in Venezuela resulting from the rapid decline in oil prices. I’ve long known that the Chavez regime bought popular support via extremely cheap gas in Venezuela, but I didn’t know until reading the article that they have also been providing subsidized gas to Cuba and Dominican Republic for many years. The drop in oil prices has significantly increased the probability that Venezuela will default on its sovereign debt and one of the likely results is cutting off the subsidies to Cuba and DR. I imagine the US sees an opportunity to gain some new influence in the region by providing a bit of a boost to Cuba’s economy. I rarely agree with the Obama administration, but this appears to be well played by them.
Ah hah!!! The true nature of Canadians is revealed. The poor people of Cuba can finally see the true possibility of unfettered access to the US economy and all the Canucks care about it losing out on cheap vacations.
Forget the noise about what a vaca costs, we all all bsds that can afford any price. More importantly, how does one capitalise off this news? Chatter has it that Cuba has no internet/tv coverage - you must all recogize americans do not travel any where without either. Who is going to be the company that gets the rights?
