How many Americans..

It’s worth $2,300 then. Marrgin of Safety, you’ve been dethroned…

In Soviet Russia, abs suck you.

Gentlemen, i ask that you not hijack this post. I believe there are a few others on the topics you wish to discuss.

On a related note, does anyone know other books that perhaps missed my courses growing up that shaped your culture. Igor / KR, what are some mandatory books that you read in the uni or even in high school?

Always hated that book.

  • “draw me a sheep”

  • “fuck you”

Very popular in German schools: a lot from Franz Kafka, Bert Brecht. And I also remember that we had to learn by heart “John Maynard” by Theodor Fontane. But I don´t know if that stuff also exists out of Germany. And I admit that I left school last century…

I went to an engineering university in Russia, so there was no literature courses required. As for high school (and I am a product of a mediocre-middle-of-nowhere-post-SU-chaotic-90s high school) , the literature program was too heavily concentrated in Russian writers. I didn’t realize how much I missed out until I took a world literature class in US college.

As for suggestions… I found that The Master and Margarita, a novel by Mikhail Bulgakov, is surprisingly very little known in US. Highly recommend!

Also, check out (if you haven’t already) short stories by Anton Chekhov and poems by Sergei Yesenin.

Another question - how many of you have seen this video while growing up?
