"Smartest Person" and "Excel"

Same exact job. But hopefully a little more efficient.

Ask your new boss to join AF and reply to all the IT to FO threads.

If his new boss were to read Greenman’s threads, he would rescind the offer.

First day at the new gig. I can tell you with 100% certainty that this firm is not as bass-ackawards as the old firm. They actually encourage the use of the computer. (Imagine that!)

just outta curiosity how much excel does one really need to know??

am working as an intern in an audit firm and i know the basics of excel like making reports inputting basic formulas plus all the excel you need to know to make and file tax returns…income taxes, sales taxes etc

I’ll be interested in knowing this as well. I worked on sell-side and buyside for a while, and their models were very simple (simple functions/formulae). IB models were on whole different level (complex inter-linkages/lots of VB coding, breakdown of every line item), may be because they were usually outsourced to Big 4.
