^ Tommy Lee Jones’ character was a former CIA operative, so his fighting ability was likely classified.

Lets get one thing straight … Navy Seals are trained to kill with weapons, not fist fight.

This Hollywood enamorment with hand to hand combat involving special operations is not entirely true. They train and are trained to complete their mission, not win in hand to hand combat.

Who will win out of a fist fight between a navy seal and RR ? You should know better that a fist fight is as much about your emotional state/ strategy/remaining cool as it is about being trained by an Irish bare knuckle boxer. I have started to meditate recently and I cannot tell you how much my BJJ game has improved as a result. Those Navy seal guys can remain cool in a fist fight, this is a skill you will need . I do agree that they are not trained to fight old school.

Of course the navy seal will win. If anything, they will fight much harder and surpass personal limitations, knowing that if they lose, rahul will likely violate their unconscious body in unspeakable ways.

what if RR’s second was SRK and they could tag in and out like CAPCOM?

True, however they still are trained in hand-to-hand combat and are likely better at it than 99.9% of the people on earth. Story time…

A guy I went to high school with went into the Army Rangers. I wouldn’t say we were friends, but we hung out with a few of the same people. He was always a little crazy for me. Anyway, a lot of us were at a bar and this random dude kept bumping into him (this was after he a full-fledged Ranger and had seen serious combat) and making rude comments like it was my buddy’s fault for sitting still at a table. My buddy kept ignoring him until finally he mentioned, very casually, that if the guy bumped into him or spoke to him one more time he was going to take him outside.

Sure enough, about 10 minutes later this dude bumps into him and says “watch it pussy” or something to that effect. My buddy gets up and very calmly says, “okay, let’s go outside. Feel free to bring your friends.” The dude seems thrilled (my buddy was jacked but only about 5’10" and you couldn’t really tell in a dark bar, plus the dude was drunk and pretty big himself so he probably wouldn’t have thought anything of it anyway). The guy and two of his friends get up to go outside to fight my buddy. We ask him if he wants us to come out with him and he basically said, “nah, don’t worry about it. I’ll be back in a bit.”

About 90 seconds after leaving the bar, my buddy comes back in covered in blood. I mean, his shirt was nearly completely red, blood splatter on his face and all over his hands. We were like, “holy shit, are you okay?”

Again, totally calm like he says, “oh, yeah, none of it is mine.”

^never happened

People fail to realize how unprepared the average joe is in a real fight.People don’t become fighters by hitting punching bags, they become fighters by being in life/death situations. If I were to have a wingman in a barfight I would take the Seal any day over the average boxer/ Muay Thai guy.

really, you are comparing a navy seal who is top 0.00001% vs an avg boxer/muy thai guy, really?!?!?

^I am just replying to a comment made by ACE ,his assumption of the Special Forces not being trained in Hand to hand combat is correct,he fails to see the bigger picture of a street brawl though.

I don’t know, a good Muay Thai fighter would house an average special forces guy in most cases. Any *good* (the proper comparison here being professionally competitive since Seals are profesional in their field) MMA fighter is essentially a specialist in hand to hand whereas a special forces guy while far more lethal is specialized in a different skillset. A professional Muay Thai fighter for instance is blocking and throwing thousands of strikes a day against other specialized opponents and will be squarely within their wheelhouse in hand to hand fighting. Beyond that Seals are partly self selected with physical traits geared towards covering large distances and modern warfare whereas an MMA fighter is specifically built for that one thing.

I mean, either one would destroy a normal person but specialization matters.

I do agree with some of your argument. I myself have been training MT over 12 years and know a thing or two about it. I would however be destroyed if the situation was something different than a typical ring setting against a decent guy. The MMA types are glorified athletes much like sport cars , they can go very fast given that the road is without any bumps, there is bo traffic, the fuel, oil and all else are above a certain quality. The Army types IMO are more like your Hummer/Land Cruise .
