USD 70k for NYC - good enough?

^ thats me but I wrestled for 2 years.

^

Damn, You weren’t mistaken?

Fook, if your parent’s can’t pay your fees or you’re too proud to ask why not do a technical course from a cheap college that can guarantee a job? 150 k debt at age 22 is downright unreal.

The only profession that can justify that kind of outlay in this day and age is surgery/ neurospecialist etc. But those are callings and if you go in for the money you’re pretty much fked.

What prompted you to take out such a loan? Or is it too personal?

^While big, not totally unusual for US.

^

Damn, Any specific reasons?

There is a middle ground between a technical degree and paying 100% of a private school education - it’s called a public school. Also, Jersey isn’t bad. I think everyone who has ever been to Hoboken has enjoyed it and the suburbs are nice.

Plan was to wrestle for 4 years but due to ACL tear had to quit. Grew up with a single mom who works a labor job and can’t pay. Thought about getting a part time job but was too busy partying.

^ Good, that’s the right way to do college, F getting a part-time job.

Ah ok, gotcha. All the best. Hope you get the debt cleared soon.

Hate to break it to you, but in this day and age, good luck clearing that debt before retirement.

Where do you work brah? I’ll make sure NOT to allocate any of my investments within that firm/fund family.

Jeez. That’s more than I owe on my mortgage.

NYC takes everything I dislike about Toronto and takes it to another level. To each their own though. People like different things.

$150k must have been some solid partying or you went to a 5 star school? Holy crap. Depressing.

Plenty of Indian Culture in these neighborhoods to make you feel at home and probably no more than 1300-1400/month for a one-bedroom by yourself. 45 minutes one-way to Manhattan by subway. I have plenty of Indian friends, reach out to me if you have additional questions.

You can pay off 150k. Just live cheaply, and you’d be amazed what you can get by on. Obviously, your interests shouldn’t include F-1 racing and heleskiing, but you can have a lot of fun on a budget. You’re not going to be making 70k forever.

One of the partners at my firm knows a guy who claims to have racked up $580k at USC.

LOL come on CVM you actually think he works at an investment firm? Macys or Mickey D’s sounds more likely.

sure, just share a studio apartment in brooklyn with 3 dudes and you’ll be all set.

Depressing for those who graduated w/ debt and can’t find a job cuz they majored in something gay like poli sci thinking they were going to law school but have a real low gpa from doing too much coke and sleeping with too many guys. yup this girl i know.
