Percent correct needed to pass

What percentage of questions do you need to get right to pass CAIA level 1? Do you have to pass each seperate section or are they aggregated?

Thanks

It’s aggregate score.

You can be weak in ceratin areas, but master other areas, and you will pass.

also 70% guarantees you a pass - see page 17 of candidate handbook under exam scoring

The minimum passing score varies from year to year, but, as stated in CAIA Handbook, a score of 70% ensures that you will pass the exam.

I’ve been reading a lot about how Schweser questions are not representative of real exam questions compared to Uppermark because they are way too easy. I’ve been using Schweser as my study material and have scored ~70% in the practice exams. According to some, this would mean that I’m not even close to passing. Any thoughts? Thanks.

I would not be so pessimistic.

When I was preparing for L1 I was using Shweser books and I passed. I don’t remember what I was getting on their practice tests, but it wasn’t much higher than your scores.

Just go in and do your best, otherwise you will never know.

Good luck on the exam!
