An unknown person called me for an impromptu interview Friday morning. I was in bed asleep and probably muttering random answers after searching to find and pick up the phone. I don’t remember it at all - not the call, nothing. I’m not a morning person. When I really woke up, I checked my call log and it showed that I had talked to them for 16 minutes and that they also sent a positive follow up email about the discussion.

WTF?! I don’t even remember the discussion, but I’ll take it.

It happened to me 5 years ago too. It was a day off, I was sleeping, and I received a call from HR from one of the company’s I applied for. I don’t recall the interview as I was half conscious, but it didn’t go as well as you.

This is why I always screen my calls if I’m not in a position to talk. Let it go to voicemail, prepare yourself mentally, then call them back when you’re ready.
