when to bring up comp/other benefits in interview process?

3 step process.

1 - interview with who will be your immediate supervisor.

2 - interview with who overseas the entire operations of the site you will be working at

3 - interview with head of division at home office via phone

when the hell do u discuss pay and ask questions about health benefits, 401k, vaca, etc?

1st person seems more likely to be able to answer some specifics, but seems way too early in the process. seems inappropriate to ask head of the division. do u wait for HR to contact with an offer and package?

seems pretty stupid to go through this whole process and say yes im interested when you dont know any of those details…

That seems like a conversation with HR after you get an offer.

Be difficult after they take the plunge and offer you something. Don’t complicate your candidacy prematurely by asking those questions.

My company presents all of that information in a nice little addendum to the offer letter that you receive from HR. so… +1 to the above comment.

You bring it up when you have the greatest bargaining power, and that time is when you beat out all your competition and have a written offer on the table.

at the end when you have made your case on why you are awesome

Don’t bring it up until they bring it up. If you end up getting an offer than it’s time to negotiate salary.
