I’ve been looking for a job for several months. I currently work in investment management and want to stay in the industry. I have a senior front office PM position and would like something similar. I am looking primarily where I live in the NY/NJ area, but I’ve also applied to positions in Chicago, Texas, SF and LA. I had an initial flurry of interviews and activity but it’s really slowed down. Most of the positions I initially interviewed for were not great fits but rather people my contacts thought I should meet with.
For those that have recently looked for another job outside of campus recruiting. How long did it take you to find one? How many positions did you apply to? Is it front, middle or back office? Also, how many years experience do you have? I am an older candidate (late 30’s) and there are just fewer openings for people with 16 years of experience.
