Looking to potentially work in the US (interviewing at the moment)

The position is for project controls (cost engineering/accounting) in the Energy sector. I looked at the qualifying positions/education in the NAFTA list and I don’t think I’d qualify under the accountant category since I have to have an accounting degree or a CA/CPA/CMA/CGA designation. I wouldn’t qualify under economist since I don’t have an economics degree, and I wouldn’t qualify under mathematician since I’m not an actuary.
I seems to fall in somewhat of a grey area. Does anyone have experience in acquiring a TN Visa in a similar situation to mine? That is, CFA Charterholder with a non-accounting/financial Bachelors degree.
