Is it okay to include 3 different positions that make up more than 48 months of experience or is it better to just include 2 of them that cover the 48 months period?

Regarding the 3 references, should each reference be from a different company (3 positions mentioned above) or is it okay to include 2 references from the same company? This means that I won’t have a reference to attest for my work experience at one of the positions…
