CFP

Hey everyone,

I received my CFA charter this year and have a great opportunity to go work for a RIA firm. They are offering a great bonus if I become a CFP as well. I passed the CFA in 3 consecutive years and am able to challenge the education requirement for the CFP so all I’ll have to do is take the test. How much time should I allow to study? Would the July window be too soon?

Let me know!

More studying for nothing more than a bonus = automatic waste of time in my opinion.

please bro, we know your firm is offering like $2,500.00 for passing CFP. Not worth it.

There is a similar arrangement with my RIA. A surprising amount of the CFAs fail here just bc there’s no out of pocket and they don’t study. However, if you put in ~50hrs I would be confident you would pass.

So you currently don’t have any experience working in wealth management?

Why would you assume that?

You down with CFP?

I’m not assuming - I’m simply asking the question. I’m preparing to write the CFP in June, and currently work as an Advisor.
