As a recent example, I wrote a macro in Excel to calibrate a binomial interest rate tree with one button click.  I change the par curve, click a button, and I have the new tree.  Voilà!

Oh yes, they make life easier. I’ve been using the V-look up & H-look up a lot at work. Haven’t used much of Macros.
