Level 1 Exam format and

can someone describe the format of the 6 hour exam . What sections and what times for each section.

What is the requirement to pass the exam ? Do we need to pass each section or over all

It’s a multiple choice exam 240 questions to be completed in 6 hours, 3 hours in the morning and 3 in the afternoon. What makes the exam difficult is you need to know the material really well - there is not a lot of time for pausing or going back to answering questions. Also it’s a lot of material to learn, especially if you do not have a background in finance, economics or accounting. I would search analystforum, youtube and the web to find out how to study for this exam. Read the threads from this year and past years of people who have passed Level I to see what they have done. Don’t trust the people who said they passed using only third party prep courses (I think they are lying or they are the exception not the rule). Also do all of the end of chapter readings twice and a couple years worth of past mock exams - try to mimic the time you get for each session (morning and afternoon 3 hours max each session). Pay close attention to the topic weights accounting, ethics, quants and fixed income which make up nearly 60 percent of the exam.
