Please tell me how to interpolate value in a F-Table. Eg. (question 18 from curriculum) For F=36/25=1.44 level of significance=alpha/2 = .025 df (1) =n-1 = 24 and df(2)= 35… given ans for f-critical is 2.18. But , num of 35 is not mentioned in the f-table given in the book. Please advise as to how to calculate the critical value Thank You

To be honest, 30 or 40 should be a good enough approximation for the purposes of a CFAI question, in my opinion. You can always Google a more precise number, of course, or just take the simple mid-point of the difference between the 30 and 40 df values. I doubt you’d be given a question on exam day where they ask you for F-table values for a degree of freedom that isn’t provided. My two cents. Perhaps Magician can offer better guidance.

You won’t be asked to interpolate an F-Stat on the exam. Focus more on calculating the correct degrees of freedom, getting the critical value, and interpreting results.
