Commercial Paper Yields

I’m a level 2 candidate, but I wanted to make sure I was correct about this level 1 topic. Should Commercial Paper yields be considered Bank Discount Yields or Money Market Yields. For example, how do I convert a 90 day Commercial Paper yield to a monthly return. If I were doing this for a 90 day CP yield, I would multiply it by (90/360) to get the holding period yield over 90 days. Then I would take (1+HPR)^(30/90)-1 to turn that number into .008265. Would this be the best method?
