Level 2 in Undergrad

I’ve posted this elsewhere but I felt it was pertinent to post it here as well. I’ve read on this forum before multiple times users posting that one cannot take Level 2 while in undergrad. Since I passed Level 1 this June and will not be graduating until December of 2018 I thought it’d be nice to give Level 2 a try as well so I called the CFAI. They said I could take it so long as I have 4 years of educational and work experience (work experience does not need to be finance/investment/professionally related it could be anything from an internship to some other job you worked 40 hours a week).

Doing so allowed me to get a CFA scholarship through my university which in turn allowed me to get Schweser materials for a much cheaper price.

This contradicts a lot of what I read online so I thought I would clarify with some correct information.
