Confidence interval of predicted value

Why when identifying the confidence interval of predicted value (e.g. one of the independent variables) standard error of forecast should be used not the standard error of the slope?

The reference in the Kaplan Qbank is given to the Reading 7 section 7.i. but could not find that information there.

Also what is Standard error of forecast?

Thanks many times,

Ann

The predicted value refers to the _ dependent _ variable, not one of the independent variables.

You don’t need to predict a value for an independent variable; those are given.

Oh yeh true - thanks many times

My pleasure.
