yes. i think they only approve/reject work experience if you’re actually applying for membership. one thing the guy at the cfai told me was that you could apply for membership, have everything approved, but not activate it (by paying) until you find out your results.
That’s disappointing. I have a friend who is not a candidate in the CFA program but was very much looking forward to submitting his work experience to CFAI to ask them on a hypothetical basis whether, if he were a candidate, passed the exams and applied for membership, it would be accepted. Bummer.
