I am wondering if anybody has had their work experience approved while serving in an operations role. Any help for what I should focus on in my write-up would be appreciated. Thank you in advance!
It’s been done. Not successfully by me, unfortunately (I got the dreaded “need more detail” and I’m still waiting to hear back after my revisions) but others have done it. They key is to stress how your job adds value to the investment decision making process, and relate it to the CFA curriculum. For example, if you are in performance, you’ll want to talk about “attribution” and other buzzwords from the CFA chapter on performance. etc. etc.
What kind of operations do you work in spec? I work in GWM operations, and have the same problem.
operations work should not be approved, there is a reason why the CFA is designated for people working in IM, ER, or valuation work.
let them eat cake…
