Duties to Emoployers: Conflict & Additional Compensation Arrangements?

Is it correct that written consent is needed from all parties (customer and employer) ONLY if the nature of the work is in conflict … for example if a Portfolio Manager is teaching at University a finance course: he does not need written consent just disclosure?

yes you need written consent for that because it’s the same field of work.

but if the PM wanted to be an uber driver it’s not conflicting so you just need to let your employer know. In that case that just want to know you aren’t spending work hours driving around the city. or working to much it affects your performance as a PM.

hmmm… how is education and asset management same field?.. yes both in finance but I have a hard time justifying the existence of conflict it… teaching a course where no advice is given vs money managed in M role…any thoughts on that?

Specially if teaching is part time and on your own time…not conflicting with your day job!!
