Can I use the CFA designation now?

Hi folks,

so i passed the level 3 and reactivated my CFA institute membership which i let lapse two years ago because I was gonna take a CFA break and didn’t see a point of paying the dues. So now after paying the dues my status says “active”. Is that it? Can I just add those three magic letters after my name? No official certificate from CFAI? No graduation ceremony?

Any advice would be welcome.

Search for your name. If you see , CFA after your name then you’re good to go. You’ll receive your charter certificate in the mail in a couple of months. Many local CFA societies host award ceremonies so you can check that out if you’re so inclined.
