what is in AM and what is in PM

So are there specific topics that will be in AM vs PM session?

Or is anything up for grabs with am?

Pretty much anything is fair game for either session.

That said, I believe that the last time they had Ethics in the morning session was in 2000, and I’ve never seen an example of GIPS in the morning session _ the last time they had GIPS in the morning session was in 2006 _. It’s probably a safe bet that neither will be in 2019.

If you look back over recent morning exams, you’ll see everything else:

  • Alternative Investments
  • Asset Allocation
  • Derivatives
  • Economics
  • Equity
  • Fixed Income
  • Individual Wealth Management
  • Individual / Behavioral
  • Institutional Wealth Management
  • Institutional / Behavioral
  • Monitoring / Rebalancing / Execution
  • Performance Evaluation
  • Risk Management

Within morning session Institutional Wealth Management, they tend to focus on pension plans, foundations, and endowments. The last time they had a life insurance company was 2007, and I can’t recall having seen a non-life insurance company or a bank since 1999.

Nice info S2000, really appreciate the help.

if u look at the past exams there is a bit of a pattern from year to year.

I believe 2006 AM had a GIPS question. I remember looking for one just to see what it would look like.

Good catch! Question 8 in 2006 was on GIPS.

I still believe that it’s unlikely to be in the morning session. Not impossible, clearly, but unlikely.

Behold the morning exam fosshizle. It is not the content but how to answer it that matters  Do read through AF as there are many tips on how to address and answer the questions , which is something key to learn.
