2018 CFA AM Mock - Not the exact same as actual 2018 exam, why?

As an L3 retaker from last year, it’s easy to see that the mock the CFAI posted isn’t the same as what I took. I explicitly remember certain topics/questions that are not on the posted mock. From what I have read here and on Reddit, this is belief had by many.

The main question I have is why change what was tested versus posted? I hate to read into things, but is this the CFAI’s way of telling us what not to/and what to focus on? Or did they want to keep those questions for future exams? It’s honestly just strange.

Yes they are going to repeat the question!!! thats a good one…

But if I recall, the equity section has completely changed, and so why would they ues an old 2018 equity question that is no longer relevant?

I hope you’re right them repeating the questions!

I thought the same as you at first, but there were more changes to the posted exam than just in equity for topics and LOS’s that are still eligible for testing. I think the CFAI likes to mess with our heads.
